Bond in Berlin

Ever tried watching a action movie from the first row in the movie theatre? What a question, why would you do that, unless you absolutely have to, right? I think if I went to see a movie and the theatre was so full that the only seats left are in the front row, I would turn right back around and leave. BUT yesterday I couldn't and didn't want to do that. It was the Bond movie premiere and we were invited. Lots of prosecco made Martina (my boss at Bild.de) and her boyfriend and me laugh our butts off. Oh, good old Prosecco...;)
Well, as I was watching Daniel Bond Craig in XXL-size on the screen and my eyes had a hard time following what was going on on each side, I was surprised at how much better he looks in person. Yes, Ladies & Gentlemen, I had an interview with him, my first and possibly last Bond. Since the new Bonds tend to keep the role for about a decade, God knows whether I will still be interviewing people at 35. Or if I even want to...
The interview was one out of three. First I interviewed the director Martin Campbell, who also directed the Zorro-flicks and whom I had interviewed before. Then came the villain Mads Mikkelsen, who was wearing a sports jacket and looked very cool and theeennn I had my five minutes with Bond. These TV-interviews are pretty impersonal. You walk in a darkened room, the artist already sitting in his chair, camera in his face, lights on, most likely getting a touch up by his make up artists, cameras start rolling and you have your 4-5 minutes with him/her, shake hands and before you can form your lips to say bye, the next interviewer is sitting in the chair you warmed for the past minutes, lol. But I must say I did enjoy this one, there is something very classy and mature about him. Must be the British thing, or the fact he was wearing a killer suit OR simply the confidence that comes with being the new Bond. The most interesting thing for me in the interview was him saying that when he found out he had landed the role, he was in Baltimore in a grocery store. He said he dropped everything he was going to buy, grabbed a Vodka bottle instead, went to the hotel and got drunk, calling his friends and family. I like the new Bond...

Speaking of Vodka, after the premiere, we were shuttled to the afterparty in a place called "The Station". I personally didn't see Daniel Craig there, although it's said that he was there. I saw the director with his very (!!) young wife and I saw the villain, whom the DJ played Stevie's "Happy Birthday" for at midnight. It was a fun night, the set up was nice AND after my usual Vodka-Redbulls, I discovered my new favorite "drink": Martini D'Oro. Nothing spectacular, I know, but unbeatable on crushed ice, at least for me, at least last night...

Bad Boy Bond

So these blogs are actually useful. I was just surfing around last night when I read my co-workers blog in which she mentions that she was looking forward to going to the press screening of "James Bond: Casino Royale" TODAY. That was at 11.39 last night and I was a bit shocked because I had forgotten about that invitation and had already made other plans for this morning. Of course they got cancelled pronto cause I wanted to see what Daniel Craig was worth as the new Bond.

Well, without putting any spoilers here, let me just say, he is doing his thing. He fights like a madman, bleeds, dares to look dirty - notice how Bond usually always looks like he got it together? After the worst fight he looks like he just showered, not D.Craig! Boyfriend gets poisoned, reanimated, loses, wins, he is arrogant and has a crazy ego. BUT it's the first time Bond falls in love!!!!! Which makes up for all, cause we ladies just love the fact he does have a heart. But it kinda bites him in his ass, but only kinda... Anyway, as you can tell it's difficult to talk about this movie without giving too much away but make sure you see it and when you do, make sure you eat before you go. I thought I would have a light breakfast and just wait for lunch after the movie (they screened it at 10.30 am) but little did I know that the movie is 140 minutes long! So eat something or buy lots of snacks and enjoy the new Bond.

Why Not?

You see things as they are and ask "Why?". I dream things that never were and say "Why Not?"

Famke Janssen - The Interview. Well, The Attempt...

The video is edited but we decided to focus on Lickerish, her dog. Why? Cause he was trying to steal the show anyway. Kinda like Kanye did at the MTV Europe Music Awards last night when somebody else won "his" award...

"Can't teach an old dog new tricks"... not (necessarily) referring to Kanye but Lickerish. But you can't be mad with him, he was too cute (Lickerish)...

WATCH HERE... (with German voice-overs though)...
